6. Angels Hard As They Come

Description: LikeTelevision's movie channel proudly presents -Angels Hard As They Come, a classic biker movie. Warning: This film contains some gratuitous nudity, drugs and foul language, like most biker films. Angels Hard As They Come, was made in 1971, is an interesting piece of film history for a lot of reasons. Jonathan Demme produced the film and helped write the screenplay. Demme is best known for directing Philadelphia with Tom Hanks and Silence of the Lambs starring Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling and Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Hannibal Lecter. But here's a little factiod tie-in - Scott Glenn, the hero Long John in Angels Hard As They Come played Clarice's boss, Jack Crawford and Roger Corman was FBI Director Hayden Burke in Demme's film adaptation of the terrific Thomas Harris novel. Small world, huh?. Also of note, Angels Hard As They Come marks the screen debut of Gary Busey, who stars as the hippy, Henry - while in real life, he's an avid biker.

He tries to make one last score with his girlfriend Parm, played by Karen Black. The film also stars Robert DeNiro as an undercover cop, Paula Prentiss as Veronica, J.J.'s ex wife - who is also a junkie, Hector Elizondo as the dealer, Vivian, and Burt Young, as muscle for the criminal element. Travolta stars as Tod Lubitch, a real kid with a huge problem with his immune system, so he has to live in the plastic bubble. While most folks remember the imfamous Jerry Seinfeld episode with the kid in the plastic bubble (a.k.a. Bubble Boy), few have seen this mildly annoying sugar coated California treat. The film is filled with star power - with Robert Reed, best known as Mike Brady from the Brady Bunch as the Dad, Ralph Bellamy as the Immunologist, and Diana Hyland as the mother. As you might already know - she was John Travolta's lover at the time (she was 41, Travolta about 23). She died on March 27, 1977 in Travolta's arms after suffering through breast cancer. The fourth clip in this 7 pack is called Fake News. It opens with the news anchor going to his reporter in the field. The most ironic comedy sketch is the news story - where Mr. Dorset (David Speilberg) And Mrs Dorset (Pamela Guest) win their long legal battle, allowing them to abort their child Timmy, up to their fifth year of life. This one is very funny and highly disturbing. The ending is insane. Ouch!

The ditty goes like this - Ol Ben Lucas, had a lot of mucus coming right out of his nose. And now many years later - sweet Kinky Friedman is running for Governor of Texas. Only in America. Followed by the Frontier Gynecologist - a very silly comedy short. Given the passage of time - the comedy is even more weird than when it first aired.

76. Dubious Lampoonery - Presidential Blame Game

The war room drama features Dick O'Neil as General Andrews, and Basil Hoffman as a Presidential Advisor, Larry Gelman as Reliff Guy - that is how he spells Relief. I learned it was spelled ROLAIDS. That's what they told me on tv anyway. We ask that everyone of all religions or countries - to please relax. The sentiments echoed in these clips do not mirror our own. The clips are presented as social history - to be examined given the context of two and a half decades of time.

Warren and the show host (Robert Ridgely) climb a tower and shoot their limit on the students below. Yikes! Warren Oates is especially proud of the beefy football letterman he bagged - must be a 280 pounder he boasts. Given all that has happened since this was created, the comedy is kind of creepy too.

79. Dubious Lampoonery - Truth in Advertising

Description: The LikeTelevision™ movie channel presents Doobious Lampoonery, some short video parodies from a 1977 film called American Raspberry. The list of stars in this film is seemingly endless. Check out IMDB for a full listing. The series - Doobious Lampoonery contains adult situations, adult language and some brief nudity. As such, it is recommended for adults only. The fifth clip in this 7 pack is called Truth in Advertising. The fist PSA is too funny - and yes, so true. The spoof on the laundry detergent Reality Testing was very funny - until she was dead in the dryer. Oh my! Royce D. Applegate is the Miracle White Announcer and Laura Fanny plays the unsuspecting laundry mat customer. The final comedy bit skewering the Is it Live or is it Memorex campaign is very disturbing on a lot of levels.

80. Dubious Lampoonery - Women's Products

The movie originally aired as a made for TV movie in 1971 at the height of Evel Knievel's fame. While George Hamilton is an unlikely actor to play Evel, he does a decent job. And Sue Lyon, best known for her role as Lolita, the 16 year old vamp in Stanley Kubrick's classic take on the Vladmir Nabikoff novel - does a great job as Linda Knievel, wife and soulmate of the daredevil motorcycle hero. Much of the movie is filmed in Butte, Montana where Evel Knievel was born. Best of all - the film features some terrific archive footage of Evel Knievel, even the famed jump at Caesar's Palace, December 31, 1967 - which is one of the most spectacular wipeouts in his illustrious career as a daredevil motorcycle showman.

By today's hypercritical PC insanity - this movie could be viewed as racist. There are some stereotyping incidents and other things that will make you roll your eyes - and yes - they use the N word. At the same time - Christie Love is a heroine - and a tough, karate kicking Mamma Jamma. The TV show played opposite another classic female cop drama - Police Woman, starring Angie Dickinson. Lots of channel flipping times, yes they were.
