The film was released in 1960, and it was Lang's last film. 5. Ballet Mecanique

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents Fernand Leger's remarkable 1924 short film Ballet Mechanique. Fernand Leger was one of the greatest French Cubist painters (do a google image search of his name) and a contemporary of Pablo Picasso. In the early days of film as an artform, Leger created this masterpiece - which is landmark film in the development of montage, a cinematic tool that juxtiposes two or more images to infer related ideas or events. The best known example is Sergei Eisenstein's scene from Battleship Potemkin - the Odessa Steps segment with the baby carriage rolling down the steps and the mother's eyeglasses - made a year after this film.

6. Battle of Algiers, The

Description: The Battle of Algiers (or La Battaglia di Algeri if you prefer the original French title) is a remarkable movie about the sublime horrors of war. Directed by Gillo Pontecorvo, this 1965 documentary tells the story of the Battle of Algiers, which pitted a French colonial government against an emerging group of revolutionary Islamic rebels, who used terrorism and suicide attacks to gain independence, but lost this Battle - as the French used torture to extract information to break up and destroy the terrorist cells. Ultimately, the country did gain independence, but only after the French broke the revolutionary movement. The movie is very realistic, though no archive war footage was used in the creation of this film. The story tries to tell an unbiased review of events that transpired during this tumultuous period for the Northern African country.

Description: A Greek father and son sponge diving team, Mike and Tony Petrakis try to farm the dangerous 12 mile reef - BIG sponges and BIG danger. The family also has trouble with the Key West locals, especially Arnold Rhys, played by Peter graves - who is a jerk that wants to marry Gwynne Rhys, but she likes the young Greek sponge diver, Tony Petrakis (Robert Wagner). If you want a fun, campy B movie - kinda like a “Key West Side Story“ with the Conks and The Greeks (instead of The Jets and The Sharks), and instead of musical numbers, you get underwater scenes with sponge divers. If that is what you are looking for - you have arrived!

15. Black Brigade, The

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - The Black Brigade starring Richard Pryor, Billy Dee Wiliams, Stephen Boyd, Robert Hooks, Moses Gunn, and Roosevelt Grier. A white southern Captain looking to get a promotion leads a group of black soldiers behind the German lines to try and save a bridge from getting blown up. Stephen Boyd, best known for his role as Messala in Ben-Hur (the bad guy who had the big spikes on his chariot) plays Captain Beau Carter. Comedian Richard Pryor plays a frightened soldier for most of the movie in an annoying red beret and former NFL football great Rosie Grier (L.A. Rams) plays the funny big cuddly GI. (Rosie trivia - he was very skilled at Macrame and helped catch Bobby Kennedy's assassin Sirhan Sirhan on June 6, 1968 along with Olympian Rafer Johnson). Billy Dee Williams is the street wise kid from Harlem and Moses Gunn plays the cool headed doctor.

This one is very funny and highly disturbing. The ending is insane. Ouch!

He starred in Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai as their leader and strategist.

One day - he saves a young damsel in distress named Kitty and tells her he is a great artist. One thing leads to another - she tries to shake the old man down with her creepy boyfriend Johnny and old Chris falls in love with the struggling young actress named Kitty. Eventually - it all blows up and somebody gets killed.

42. Shark a.k.a. Man Eater

Description: The LikeTelevision™ movie channel presents Shark, also known as ManEater, Twist of the Knife, Caine, and originally - Arma de dos Filos (it originally released as a Mexican film). The film stars Burt Reynolds as Caine. The film was directed by the great Sam Fuller - who had some serious issues with the producer (Jose Luis Calderon) and left the production very upset. He even asked that his name be removed from the film - but the producers did not comply. Based on a novel by Victor Canning.

Directed by Henry King, this movie tells the story of a famous Amercian writer Harry Street who is dying from a leg infection in Tanzania, near the base of Mount Kilimanjaro.
