3. Amos and Andy - Check and Double Check

Description: It is with some hesitation... that LikeTelevision™ presents this Amos and Andy classic film - Check and Double Check. There are some high points in the film that make it more interesting from a historical perspective. It was made in 1930 and is Amos and Andy's first talkie. There's even a part that features Duke Ellington and His Cotten Club Orchestra. Oddly enough, Animator extraordinaire Seymour Kneitel (of Popeye and Casper fame).... made a cartoon with a catchy title - Chick and Double Chick. Hmmm that sounds like an interesting cartoon!

Description: This short clip features Roseanne Barr in her comedy debut in front of a National audience on the Tonight Show. Followed by the legendary moment from the days of live TV - when Ed Ames throws a tomahawk into a plywood dummy, and the hatchet lands in the dummy's pelvis. A frontier briss? Rachel Welch suffers through some good natured sexual innuendo. Same for Madeline Kahn, who tells Johnny she's afraid of balls coming at her.

This is one of my personal favorites, since we get Frank Random on vocals, an amazing performance and this weirdo named Pacho El Dropper drops in to fix the buffering. Frank Random just nails Shot in the Saddle.

This is one of my personal favorites, more Lenny singing a great song, Random and Ricky are killing the rhythm section, and Jason's lead guitar is a jaw dropper. All in one song - That's a real good sign.

17. Meet John Doe

Description: The LikeTelevision™ Movie channel proudly presents - Meet John Doe - with Gary Cooper, Barbara Stanwyck, Walter Brennan, and Edward Arnold. Based on the Richard Connell novel, a newspaper publicity stunt designed to increase circulation (yes, fake news), creates “John Doe“, (Gary Cooper)to tell the story of the “little people“. Barbara Stanwyck plays Miss Mitchell, the ambitious journalist who starts the “marketing campaign“ and writes John's speeches. Like Peggy Noonan and Ronald Reagan, only John Doe isn't President, he's just a nobody.

21. Outlaw, The

Description: Howard Hughes' production of The Outlaw is an interesting piece of film history for many reasons. While it was finished in 1940, it was dropped by 20th Century Fox due to critics' pans and the censors balking at Jane Russell's bulging cleavage. It seems Hughes Aircraft engineers even designed a special cantilevered bra to enhance Russell's attributes, long before her role in the Playtex cross your heart, lift and seperate bra commercials. (the gun control lobby today would be throwing fits, as Russell was packing a pair of 38s). In addition, famed director Howard Hawks was fired during production by Hughes, as there was some animosity between Russell and Hawks, and at the time, Russell was Howard Hughes' girlfriend.
