1. 1936 Olympia - Part one

Description: The LikeTelevision™ Movie channel proudly presents - The 1936 Olympics (Part one) - a landmark film of the 1936 Olympics by Leni Riefenstahl. Adolf Hitler is the host of the the Olympics - how's that for irony. In spite of all the disturbing footage of people doing that Hitler “hi“ sign, Joseph Goebbels, and Musselini - the film is a great archive from the athletic competition. Check out the old high jump techniques.

2. 1960 Corvair TV Commercial

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - a classic 1960 Chevy Corvair Infommercial - that seems to directly address Ralph Nader's objections in his book, Unsafe at Any Speed. If you do not know the history - the Chevy Corvair was a super cool car.... that got crushed because of concerns raised in Nader's book. For its day - the car was really no less safe than the rest of the lot, especially after the modifications to reduce rollovers. None of this mattered - the car was doomed commercially. Too bad - it was a really cool car.

3. Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet - Kris Play Cupid

Description: The LikeTelevision™ Classic TV channel proudly presents another terrific episode from the Nelson Family called Kris play Cupid. Kris Nelson is Ricky's wife, on the show and in real life and she tries to help some friends move quicker into marriage but the paln backfires. If you think Kris looks a lot like Tracy Nelson, the nun from Father Dowling Mysteries with Tom Bosley (a.k.a. Richie Cunningham's dad on Happy Days), well she should. She is Tracy's mom. The eyes give it away. She is also the mom of Matthew and Gunnar Nelson from the band - Nelson, which had a #1 hit called (I can't live without your) Love and Affection. You can check out Rick Nelson singing a cool song, and special music arranged by Jimmie Haskell, in part 3 of this episode. Also of note - James Burton plays guitar with Ricky's band for this show and on bass, John Hartford, who was part of the O Brother Where Art Thou team of bluegrass songwriters that just cleaned up at the 2002 Grammy Awards. Plus - some pretty hilarious commercials - my favorite is for Palmolive Gold soap, where stinky people are advised - Don't wait to be told - you need Palmolive Gold.

4. Alka Seltzer TV Commercial - Pie Eating Professionals

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - a classic Alka Seltzer TV Commercial we call The Pie Eating Professionals. It begins with a classic front line of a football team that sprints to a table filled with pies in an eating contest. When the contest is over, the team retreats to the locker room, and instead of a Jacuzzi - and Ben Gay, there's a medicine cabinet with some Alka Seltzer. One of the old timers helps a worn out rookie get some relief from acid indigestion. Coke Commercials Ahhhh. Alka Seltzer cures the upset stomach. And yes - if the commercial feels familiar - it is an obvious tribute to the Mean Joe Green Coke commercial. And in case you were wondering, the other fellow in the commercial is indeed Joe DeRita, a.k.a. Curly Joe - the final third stooge to replace Curly Howard of the Three Stooges. This tv commercial is a true classic, i remember like yesterday! For more info on stomach ailments - go to the source at Alka-Seltzer.com

7. Angels Hard As They Come

Description: LikeTelevision's movie channel proudly presents -Angels Hard As They Come, a classic biker movie. Warning: This film contains some gratuitous nudity, drugs and foul language, like most biker films. Angels Hard As They Come, was made in 1971, is an interesting piece of film history for a lot of reasons. Jonathan Demme produced the film and helped write the screenplay. Demme is best known for directing Philadelphia with Tom Hanks and Silence of the Lambs starring Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling and Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Hannibal Lecter. But here's a little factiod tie-in - Scott Glenn, the hero Long John in Angels Hard As They Come played Clarice's boss, Jack Crawford and Roger Corman was FBI Director Hayden Burke in Demme's film adaptation of the terrific Thomas Harris novel. Small world, huh?. Also of note, Angels Hard As They Come marks the screen debut of Gary Busey, who stars as the hippy, Henry - while in real life, he's an avid biker.

8. Arafat Founds The P.L.O.

Description: The LikeTelevision™ History channel proudly presents, This Day In History - February 4!

9. At War with the Army

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - At War with the Army, a terrific Martin & Lewis comedy classic about the craziness of being a soldier in the US Army. Jerry Lewis stars as pfc Alvin Korwin, who as you might expect, is a goofy nerd with a heart of gold. Meanwhile - Dean Martin plays First Sgt. Vic Puccinelli, a childhood friend of Korwin's, who is a callous womanizer, trying to dodge an airhead, former sweetheart named Millie... who is in trouble, i.e. pregnant. Jean Ruth is terrific in her role as Millie. The film also introduces Polly Bergen, who plays Helen - Vic's current girlfriend. They do a beautiful duet in an old style recording booth - where soldiers would send nifty audio messages to friends and family back home.

10. At Your Service

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - Made To Order, a cult classic film made in the 1940s - where this guy goes to a drive-in restaurant and some waitress starts dancing on the hood of his car. Some other gals join in the crazy sock hop dance and you wonder why he is so jazzed about letting these gals dance on his car. And oh my - is he looking up her skirt - this is very strange content and we wondered who it was created for. We thought maybe it was for returning GIs or maybe a bizarre screen test for Hollywood, who knows.

11. Australian Girls give CPR

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents another bizarre short video clip. This one features a group of lovely Australian lifeguards in 1960s skimpy bathing suits performing mass CPR on an eager group of young men (ooops - I thought they were Swedish... but they are Australian). For whatever reason - this looks like some kind of funky kissing contest. The best moment however is when one of the Australian lifeguards blows her breath in, then looks aside and listens for breathing. The angle of the shot makes it appear that she is staring at young man's speedo. HA!

12. Baby Huey in Pest Pupil

Description: The LikeTelevision™ Cartoon channel proudly presents - Baby Huey in Pest Pupil. It seems Baby Huey is an idiot, which makes him a bit of a problem student. 14. Bad Taste

Description: The LikeTelevision™ movie channel presents a delightful horror classic from 1987 called Bad Taste, produced and directed by Peter Jackson, best known for his work on the JRR Tolkien movies, including the Lord of the Rings series and if fans get their wish, The Hobbit (though that looks bleak now). Well, long before Peter Jackson was a big cheese in film, he made this film with his school buddies over a four year period about a group of secret government agents in charge of keeping the world safe from invading aliens from distant galaxies. The budget for the film was next to nothing though it was a step up from a bunch of his previous efforts shot on 8mm film. Peter finally got a decent camera, a hand wound 16mm Bolex that was used for this movie and a little bit of money from a grant that helped him create more elaborate special effects.Bad Taste is an amazing movie - you can see the genius of Peter Jackson on display even as a young lad. He not only directed and produced this film, he even stars as young Derek, the courageous geek leader of the Alien Protection Squad who has to keep repacking his brains that have partially fallen out of his head.

15. Bang the Drum Slowly

Description: LikeTelevision's classic tv channel proudly presents a terrific episode from the U.S. Steel Hour - Bang the Drum Slowly starring Paul Newman, Albert Salmi, and George Peppard. 19. Beneath The 12 Mile Reef

Description: A Greek father and son sponge diving team, Mike and Tony Petrakis try to farm the dangerous 12 mile reef - BIG sponges and BIG danger. The family also has trouble with the Key West locals, especially Arnold Rhys, played by Peter graves - who is a jerk that wants to marry Gwynne Rhys, but she likes the young Greek sponge diver, Tony Petrakis (Robert Wagner). If you want a fun, campy B movie - kinda like a “Key West Side Story“ with the Conks and The Greeks (instead of The Jets and The Sharks), and instead of musical numbers, you get underwater scenes with sponge divers. If that is what you are looking for - you have arrived!

20. Betty Boop - Baby Be Good

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - another Betty Boop classic cartoon, Baby Be Good. Betty is babysitting a naughty little boy who she admonishes and tells a tale of a Karma Meltdown. In a wild sequence of running the film backwards - all the wrongs get righted. Yeah - that's the ticket - nothing like reverse animation to fill up the minutes of a cartoon. Pretty cool all the same - i love the part where the kid covers a cat in toothpaste.

21. Betty Boop - Crazy Inventions

Description: Betty Boop goes to a trade show of crazy inventions and has a blast. Get a glimpse of the future... uhm - I mean the past. Very cool - but poor source media. We will replace it with a better film soon if possible.

Directed by Ida Lupino, who was married to Collier Young from 1948 - 1951. check it out!

26. Black Brigade, The

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - The Black Brigade starring Richard Pryor, Billy Dee Wiliams, Stephen Boyd, Robert Hooks, Moses Gunn, and Roosevelt Grier. A white southern Captain looking to get a promotion leads a group of black soldiers behind the German lines to try and save a bridge from getting blown up. Stephen Boyd, best known for his role as Messala in Ben-Hur (the bad guy who had the big spikes on his chariot) plays Captain Beau Carter. Comedian Richard Pryor plays a frightened soldier for most of the movie in an annoying red beret and former NFL football great Rosie Grier (L.A. Rams) plays the funny big cuddly GI. (Rosie trivia - he was very skilled at Macrame and helped catch Bobby Kennedy's assassin Sirhan Sirhan on June 6, 1968 along with Olympian Rafer Johnson). Billy Dee Williams is the street wise kid from Harlem and Moses Gunn plays the cool headed doctor.

27. Blue Women Art

Description: LikeTelevision is prud to present - another funky short. The weird little gem is called Blue Women Art. Long before Intel hired The Blue Man Group - heck, long before Intel even made their first integrated circuit - there was a bizarre Czech painter named Yves Klein. Klein was known for painting expressionist paintings - where naked women all slathered in blue paint, used other naked women also covered in blue paint, as living paint brushes. Meanwhile - a live symphony would play either some music - or ooooooo, how arty - a single monotone. ohmmmmm. Sounds like quite an evening, huh? Check out this short clip which shows one such event. Yes - it was Yves Klein who wrote the monotone symphony in 1949. It concisted of one note. Genius - well maybe not. I went to a site (yvesklein.de) that featured an mp3 of 1 minute of the opus solo notus - and it was really annoying.

They "borrow" stuff from the big humans who live above them and do everything they can to remain undetected. Things get a little crazy when Aunt Sophy's young nephew moves in. As the little Clock's learn - there's few things more dangerous than a curious little boy.

32. Boy in the Plastic Bubble, The

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - a cult classic made for tv movie called The Boy in the Plastic Bubble starring John Travolta, Robert Reed, Diane Hyland, and Glynnis O'Connor. Travolta stars as Tod Lubitch, a real kid with a huge problem with his immune system, so he has to live in the plastic bubble. While most folks remember the imfamous Jerry Seinfeld episode with the kid in the plastic bubble (a.k.a. Bubble Boy), few have seen this mildly annoying sugar coated California treat. The film is filled with star power - with Robert Reed, best known as Mike Brady from the Brady Bunch as the Dad, Ralph Bellamy as the Immunologist, and Diana Hyland as the mother. As you might already know - she was John Travolta's lover at the time (she was 41, Travolta about 23). She died on March 27, 1977 in Travolta's arms after suffering through breast cancer. A pompous windbag doctor named Bill Cortner gets in a car accident with his girlfriend. She loses her head (i.e. decapitated).. but Bill doesn't. Why - he's gonna find a sweet young girl's body and transplant it on the head of his girlfriend. Trust me - this movie is a real whopper and lots of fun.

69. Cyrano de Bergerac w/ Jose Ferrer

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - Cyrano de Bergerac, starring Jose Ferrer as Cyrano in the screen adaptation of Edmond Rostand's classic play. Jose Ferrer is nothing short of brilliant in his portrayal as the Cyrano - a gifted poet, wordsmith, swordsman, and a man with a beautiful and tender heart. But with all these gifts - he was also given a monster sized nose, that reminds one of the proboscis monkey - it is huge and hideous, a perfect foil for the lavish gifts he has been given. Cyrano loves a beautiful woman named Roxane, who happens to be a distant cousin, but he is afraid to tell her how he feels about her, because he is afraid of rejection.

70. Day of Wrath

We liked this movie

71. Despotism or Democracy?

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - Despotism. Here's a question for you - Despotism or Democracy? Which society do you live in? The film was originally created by Encyclopedia Britanica shortly after World War II (1945). We edited the original and trimmed down the total length to make it more enjoyable, and of course, more ironic - given the current world situation, with some oppressive regimes all over the place - and the potential for concern regarding the Patriot Act in the USA. As such - while the original content is quite dated - the metrics used to measure the freedom in a society, remain very valid. Check it out - i think you'll enjoy it.

72. Diaboliques, Les

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents -Diabolique, directed by Henri-Georges Clouzo. This 1955 film remains one of the greatest murder mystery, suspense thrillers ever created. It won a special Edgar award in 1956 as well as honors for Best Foreign Film from the New York Critics Circle in 1955. Simone Signoret's performance is nothing short of amazing. My favorite comment on the movie - it is the greatest movie Hitchcock never made - and one can easily see the Sir Alfred style of suspense at work and perhaps Hitchcock got a few good ideas from this film as well.

73. Dick Van Dyke Show - Hustling the Hustler

This 1920 silent film stars the legendary John Barrymore (Drew Barrymore's grandfather) in the duel role of Dr. Henry Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Simply put - his performance is amazing. Martha Mansfield stars as the innocent Millicent Carew, the lovely daughter of Sir George Carew, played by Brandon Hurst. You can also watch Hurst in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

76. Drinking and Eating PSA

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents a bizarre old PSA (public service announcement) which alerts us that eating a lot of food has no effect on how the body absorbs alcohol. Duh? You mean if I eat a loaf of sponge bread it won't sop up all that wine? Why who knew! The guy in the commercial has some trouble driving and ends up getting his Volkwagon Beetle pinched between two trucks.

77. Drunken Angel

Description: This is a classic movie - by perhaps the greatest filmmaker of all time, Akira Kurosawa. Dr. Sanada, played by Takashi Shimura (the leader in Seven Samurai), treats a petty criminal named Matsunaga (Toshiro Mifune) with tuberculosis, and tries to get him to work at treating his disease (stop drinking, smoking, get some rest, etc.) Meanwhile, another gangster gets out of prison and a feud breaks out between rival factions. A cool look at the underworld in Japan in post WWII, and the courage of a poor doctor, who is trying to cure another human, even if he is a criminal. We regret that the subtitles are difficult to read - but the story is pretty easy to follow.

78. Evel Knievel

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - Evel Knievel starring George Hamilton as Evel Knievel and Sue Lyon as Linda Knievel. The movie originally aired as a made for TV movie in 1971 at the height of Evel Knievel's fame. While George Hamilton is an unlikely actor to play Evel, he does a decent job. And Sue Lyon, best known for her role as Lolita, the 16 year old vamp in Stanley Kubrick's classic take on the Vladmir Nabikoff novel - does a great job as Linda Knievel, wife and soulmate of the daredevil motorcycle hero. Much of the movie is filmed in Butte, Montana where Evel Knievel was born. Best of all - the film features some terrific archive footage of Evel Knievel, even the famed jump at Caesar's Palace, December 31, 1967 - which is one of the most spectacular wipeouts in his illustrious career as a daredevil motorcycle showman.

79. Fast and the Furious, The

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - the 1954 classic, The Fast and The Furious starring John Ireland and Dorothy Malone. This was the original film that started the series of movies with similar titles, most recently a decent Rob Cohen remake in 2001 starring Paul Walker and Vin Diesel and another offspring car happy film from the legendary John Singleton called 2 Fast 2 Furious, which also stars Paul Walker. But if the vintage and old school is your passion, nothing beats the original from the mid fifties. While the Jaguar XKE is nothing short of awesome, my favorite ride in this movie has got to the 1952 Allard J2X. Oh my... what a car and it even looks faster with the beautiful Dorothy Malone behind the wheel.

80. Fat Girls just wanna have fun

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - this weird clip about a tribe in the South Pacific archipelago where fat girls are viewed as really sexy. Weighing in at 275 pounds plus, some of these girls are really voluptuous. They eat tapioca roots while inside little cages to assist in making them plump. And they are all slated for the head man in the village - who happens to weigh just over 90 lbs. Lots of cool and colorful tribal wear - and a few topless shots of the girls. Nothing taudry - more in a National Geographic kind of nudity.

81. Felix The Cat - Bold King Cole

Description: From 1936 - it's Felix The Cat in Bold King Cole. 83. First Spaceship To Venus

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents this Science fiction classic - First Spaceship to Venus. This classic East German film - originally named Der Schweigende Stern (also named Raumschiff Venus antwortet nicht) was made in 1959 and the cinemamatic portrayal of computers and space travel is really a remarkable feat. The spaceship looks like a sleek Space Shuttle - looking more like a cool airplane than a rocketship. The computers are also very cool - and a must see for all geeks and techies.

84. Folgers TV Commercial w/ Mrs. Olson

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - a classic Folgers Coffee TV Commercial with the marital counselor extraordinaire - Mrs. Olson. We watch the Capuchin Friars dressed in red robes, and little children polishing the heads of dead brothers. Meanwhile, a plump lady says her Rosary. The whole place is just teaming with skulls and cross bones. When in Rome - do as the Romans do.... hmmm, I not so sure this is always good advice.

88. Gabby in King for a Day

Description: From 1940 - the Fleischer Brothers provide a cool Gabby cartoon, where a king gets a message that someone wants to shoot him - so he cordially lets Gabby be king for a day. Is this an assassination attempt on the ruling party? A cout d'etat? Hardly... see if you can guess the joke before the punch line at the end. If not - well you need to watch more cartoons and get with the program. Also features the king in the tub.... (not to be confused with Hoss in a tub in the Bonanza episode -Courtship. Young Gerald is a sound effects (FX) wizard - he does all the funky noises for a big radio station. In a classic case of cost cutting, the manager decides to have Gerald also do the symphony orchestra -which is a great idea till he drops the sheet music, and gets it mixed up with his sound fx script for a radio show. This creates some ver crazy music, honk, honk, lala, BAM.. crash. etc etc. Some very interesting animation techniques, a good story line, and loads of good clean fun! A VERY cool toon - check it out.

92. Good for the Goose

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - Good for the Goose, a short video clip of some women from Strausberg who are using a grinder to force feed some geese. Why you ask - well to make better Pate de Fois Gras of course. For those who are, shall we tres gauche - pate de fois gras is Goose liver pate, which sounds pretty gross, but is actually quite delicious. Anyway - I am sure the folks from P.E.T.A. (people for the ethical treatment of animals) are outraged by my lack of outrage, but i love pate de fois gras.... and escargot too. I think the snails are treated more ethically than say, live Maine lobsters - but I digress.

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - a classic Heinz Pickle TV Commercial. Many years before the memorable Heinz slow ketchup commercials, they offered these ads for their pickles. This one features a lady who goes whacko when she gets a soggy pickle at a fine restaurant. While it would be easy to put in some kind of snappy presidential campaign comments between John Kerry (married to Teresa Heinz Kerry) vs. George Bush - i will leave that to others. Just enjoy the commercial and watch the old lady lose it in the restaurant. She should have just shove it and let it go. hahaha. Sorry, couldn't resist.

As expected, Anthony Perkins plays the torrmented Allan, who just got released from the psycho ward and is going home even though the doctors are not sure he is fully well. It seems there was a tragic accident involving Allan's dad who dies in a fire that scars his sister Katherine (Julie Harris) and leaves Allan blinded. Description: I Drunk Too Much comes to LikeTelevision from Jon Bare, out in sunny California. Check out this mondo music video, rolled up in broadband internet media, and folded into a cool song. Also - check out James Dean, doing a PSA with Gig Young on Driving Safety.

106. I Like Ike - Presidential Campaign ad

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - a wonderful blast from the past, from 1952 - the I Like Ike presidential campaign ad for Dwight D. Eisenhower, who served two terms (1953-1961) as President of the United States. This ad is a less than slick cartoon with some terrific caricatures. Ike was the 34th President and served as Supreme Commander for US troops on D-Day, the massive beach landing on the French coast that led to the end of World War II. He also served as head of NATO forces in 1951 before being aproached by Republican officials who urged him to run for President. During the Cold War, he worked hard to achieve peace during a time when the world was struggling with the terrors of Communism which were spreading fast and threatening democracies across the globe. He prosposed that the US and the Soviets exchange military information but was rebuffed. However meetings were held and the talks helped reduce tensions. Finally - we can also thank Ike for the US interstate highway system and the impact that had on our ability to travel as well as the positive economic consequences of increased interstate commerce. Yep - Dwight D. Eisenhower not only seemed like a decent fellow, I bet he was a good man too. The tone of this political ad from 50 years ago is in sharp contrast to the ads we suffer through today - and we hope that the people who make these ads gain some insight for future presidential campaign themes.

Be prepared for slower pacing... and be patient as you fall into Hoichi's mystical world. Also of note - if Takashi Shimura who plays the head priest looks familiar, well... he should. He starred in Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai as their leader and strategist.

Description: The LikeTelevision™ music channel is proud to present Terry Garlnd Live at LikeTelevision™. February 15,2007 was Terry's second time to play in our studios - the first was way back in 1998. Terry plays a mean National style o and a wicked Gibson L-0 (i think that's what is was anyway). For a slide - it looked like he was mostly using a spark plug socket wrench. If you like Delta Blues old school style, one guy pumping out a full band sound - you're going to love Terry Garland. This first song is called Without You and is features on Whistling in the Dark CD. I love the cool section where Terry played some rhythm guitar, sampled it and looped in back in so he could put a little wahine type slide lead over the top. Very cool indeed. Now it gets weirder - Victoria thinks she kills George by accident (trying to whack her husband on the head during a fight with George - she misses and hits George instead). Meanwhile, her husband is a peeping tom who likes to watch Victoria at the dressing table through a knot hole in the wall. Things like this give the movie a real creepy feel.

We already feature this song, but Frank went back in and pulled the original audio tracks from the live performance at LikeTelevision's studio, and tweaked, remixed and synced with the original video performance. The story contained in the lyrics is awesome - and tells about a kid with cancer, called the Chemo Kid... who says, chemo therapy's a drag, when you're going home pukin' in a bag. Another great line in the song... the Make-A Wish Foundation won't return his calls. A really great song, and yes... totally recorded live.

Pretty cool video, that gets better with time.

156. New Age Japanese Aerobics

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents another bizarre short video clip. This little gem shows an old Japanese gym of shorts - where the corporate boys from Tokyo go to blow off some steam and shake things up. You will see all kinds of whacky vibrating and shaking machines that only a real mover and shaker might enjoy. Also - a terrific shot of a guy with a beautiful and colorful full body tattoo in one of these vibrating contraptions. It looks like the tattoo is talking to you. The fellow on the pedal bike is a riot too.

159. No Smoking at LikeTelevision

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - No Smoking at LikeTelevision, a cult classic from Zim Zum, the musical comedy show we created for the internet in the summer of 2000. What were we thinking? This clip features Jim Stafrani, an early user of LikeTelevision declaring that LikeTelevision is the first smoke free web site - EVER! He appears serious, though it is unclear what he is doing to the saxophone player sculpture with his wandering fingers. For an opposing view - we turn to the insanity of Zim Zum's producer, Frank Random - who had some fun with the audio from a Bill Hicks comedy routine - mixed with an old promo featuring James Arness having a drink and a smoke, and wearing boxer shorts instead of pants. Wow.. so ahead of his time. The clip ends with Dodge Benson lamenting about how he won't be able to make the payments on his cadillac now that he has been fired as host when the show was cancelled. Plus... a few beers later - he appears more honest about how he really feels about it.

163. Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge. This film by Robert Enrico is adapted from the story written by Ambrose Bierce. The short film does an excellent job of telling this great tale, about a man accused of trying to sabotage a bridge during the civil war. As the story begins, the man is about to be executed - by hanging from Owl Creek Bridge. We enter the man's mind, as he imagines that the rope breaks - and he narrowly escapes the onslaught of bullets from the Union soldiers. Then he runs through an arched forest canopy - trying to return to his wife and child, who are waiting for him at his home. Most of the story takes place, during that brief few seconds, as he falls from his gallows - to the moment when his neck snaps. An incredible journey of mind.... look out, there's a sign post up ahead! Yep, this short film was also an episode of The Twilight Zone, with Rod Serling. I believe it was the only episode that was not produced by the great writing team that made the show. As a Twilight Zone, it aired Feb. 28, 1964 - episode 142.

This tv commercial is also a cartoon, animated by the greats at Fleischer Brothers studio, the same fellows who brought us Popeye, Betty Boop and Superman in the early days. The commercial is a long form presentation - probably initially released in theaters to play before the main feature. Parts of it are quite cheeky - especially for the day. There's a peeping tom character, and this line - you can go as far as you like with me, in my merry oldsmobile. Somehow i am not sure how one would measure mileage - ha!

174. One Step Beyond - Mask

Description: This is another terrific episode of One Step Beyond, a cool Sci-Fi TV show from the late 50s, early 60s... that inspired a few other cool sci-fi tv shows like The Twilight Zone and Outer Limits. The Mask features Wesley Lau, best known as Lt. Andy Anderson from the Perry Mason tv show, as a soldier named Wollenski. He got lost in the middle of the Egyptian desert during his tour of duty, and wakes up in the hospital with a pillow case over his head... I guess he got sunburned or something. Anyway, for no good reason, he starts drawing some wild hieroglyphics on a napkin and gives the artwork to a guy named Brimley (and while he looks like Wilfred Brimley on the Quaker Oats commercials - it's a different guy)... who just happens to be an archeologist. Small world, huh? Well... it seems that Wollenski has the spirit of some old Pharoah in him, who wants to reveal the whereabouts of his missing tomb. Wait till you see what happens to Wollenski's face. This episode is real weird one, bet you like it! BTW - you can also check out Wesley Lau in Bonanza - Desert Justice on LikeTelevision's Classic TV channel.

Description: Need another terrific episode of One Step Beyond? No problem. 176. Pajama Game

Description: The Pajama Game became the first in a string of smash hits for visionary choreographer Bob Fosse soon after it opened on Broadway in May of 1954. The play opened to rave reviews and was performed well over 1000 times. So when it came time to re-purpose it for the silver screen, Warner Bros. decided to basically lift the entire production from the stage at the St. James Theater and transport it to the sound stage in Hollywood. The female lead was changed from Janis Paige to Doris Day for box-office reasons and a couple of minor roles were switched out but, all-in-all what we see in the film is a faithful replication of the original Broadway production and a level of ensemble seldom seen on film. If you can stop being soooo sophisticated and are ready, willing and able to dispend reality for a little while, you will really enjoy this wonderful piece of period fluff.

Description: The LikeTelevision™ movie channel proudly presents - The Phantom of the Opera. This early silent film made in 1925 stars Lon Chaney as the Phantom, also known as Eric who is a musical genius, but alas - butt ugly. Unlike the 1962 version with Herbert Lom, we do not get any background as to what happened to Erik - that made him so disfigured. (In the 1962 version - he is burned in a fire by some chemicals as he tries to retrieve his stolen music from a shady publisher.) This is the first film version of the Gaston Leroux novel, so please don't expect anyone will break into song. This is not the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical version released in 2004. Directed by Rupert Julian with Mary Philbin as Christine Daae (no relation to Regis), and Norman Kerry as Vicomte Raoul de Chagny, Christine's boyfriend. Kerry also stars as the swashbuckling hero of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

The guy in the film is pretty effeminate and one wonders what kind of homoerotic producer financed this short film - this is very strange content and we wondered who it was created for. We thought maybe it was for returning GIs or maybe a bizarre screen test for Hollywood, who knows.

216. Third Man, The

Description: The Third Man is wonderful film about post war Europe and the corruption that flourished as crooks made fortunes in the Black Market. Pulp fiction writer Holly Martins is looking for his friend, Harry Lime in Vienna. But it seems Harry is dead. He meets up with his girlfriend, Anna Schmidt - and is disturbed that the stories of Harry's demise don't add up. So he goes to the law -and learns from Major Calloway that Harry was a crook and a creep, who sold watered down penicillan in the Black Market. The film features obvious tributes to the 1936 Fritz Lang classic - M, about a child murderer - including the balloon man, the remarkable cinematography (Robert Krasker won the Best Oscar for Cinematography in 1951 for The Third Man), and the chase scenes in the streets of Germany (Austria-Hungary). You will also love the great music - Theme from the 3rd man, which was played on a zither by Anton Karas. Make sure you check out the preview. We also recommend that you check out Chet Atkin's version of the theme, which is just as remarkable as the Karas' zither masterpiece.

The music swells and the jingle begins like this:
Hey, have you heard the crazy new way.
To send a message today
It flashed on a screen to quick to see
But still you get it subliminally. YIKES! I am not sure if this ad is more disturbing than Pat Boone's rendition of Little Richard's Tuti Fruiti - but the fact that i am comparing the two events should give you an idea of why this classic tv commercial is such a gem.

Johnny is their leader and hero who makes all the decisions for the group.
