1. 1000 Eyes of Dr. Mabuse

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - a terrific 1960 film directed by Fritz Lang called the 1000 Eyes of Dr. Mabuse. Fritz Lang was one of the greatest directors in the history of film is in charge, best known for his masterpieces - Metropolis, about a bleak technolgical future, and M a remarkable psycholgical crime thriller about a child murderer, played by Peter Lorre. The film was released in 1960, and it was Lang's last film. Everyone who reviewed it at LikeTelevision just loved this movie - it kept you on the edge of your seat, the cinematography was stunning, and the story was nothing short of riveting. If you like Alfred Hitchcock psycho thrillers like Vertigo and Rear Window, you'll love this movie.

2. Addams Family, The - Lurch's Grand Romance

Description: The quirky Addams family was a favorite of every challenged family back in the sixties. In this episode, Lurch falls in love when Morticia's old school buddy, Tiny Trivia, comes to visit. The big guy is just goo goo eyed in love with the girl. But too bad for Lurch, the little starlet has no time or interest in a monster sized butler like Lurch.

4. Blue Angel, The

Directed by Josef von Sternberg, this 1930 was originally called Professor Unrat, then Der Blaue Engel (German for the Blue Angel) and later released in the USA. This was the breakout film for Marlene Dietrich - her next film was a Hollywood classic, directed again by Von Sternberg called Morocco starring Gary Cooper and Adolphe Menjou.

5. Bonanza - Dark Star

Description: The LikeTelevision™ Classic TV channel proudly presents -Bonanza - featuring Lorne Greene, Michael Landon, Dan Blocker, and Pernell Roberts. This episode features a special guest appearances by Susan Harrision (the bewitched gypsy girl born under a dark star) and Hugo Haas (as the king gypsy). Joe finds a dazed gypsy girl who thinks she's a witch, and then falls in love with her.

6. Day of Wrath

Lisbeth Movin plays Anne - a young woman in her twenties who got married to the priest in the village, Reverend Absalom - who is about 55 or 60. An amazing film about witches, burning at the stake, forced confessions, wild passion, and bad decisions. The cinematography is pure genius. Danish language film with English subtitles. 7. Farewell To Arms

Description: The LikeTelevision™ Movie channel proudly presents - A Farewell To Arms - with Gary Cooper and Helen Hayes. Based on the Hemingway novel, an American ambulance driver, Frederic Henry falls in love with English nurse, Catherine Barkley.

8. Floating Weeds - Ukigusa

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - Floating Weeds or Ukigusa which is the roginal Japanese title. This is one of acclaimed director Yasujiro Ozu's finest works. It tells the wonderful story of Komajuro Arashi, an aging master of a travelling Kabuke troupe that is hits the skids in a small Japanese towns. (or to coin a phrase from This is Spinal Tap - their appeal is becoming more selective). Master Komajuro wants to see his son, who has grown up since his last visit a decade ago and his aging mistress, Sumiko. Of course this angers his current flame, the top actress of the show. Like many a spurned women, she seeks vengence and the results are disastrous. This is a great story from one of the best directors of all time and while many people might prefer Ozu's Tokyo Monogatari, Floating Weeds is my personal favorite.

9. Laurel and Hardy in Flying Deuces

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - a classic Laurel and Hardy movie called Flying Deuces. Ollie and Stan are in Paris France, the city of love - when Ollie falls in love with a beautiful women. Trouble is - it turns out she is married to a soldier. Heartbroken - the boys decide to join the French Foreign Legion. They quickly tire of the military routine and decide to quit. The trouble is - you are not allowed to quit, and they AWOL. And yes, as you might expect, they get into all kinds of trouble and create all varieties of comedy routines in the process.

10. My Man Godfrey

Description: My Man Godfrey is a classic Romantic Comedy, set in New York City during the depression. William Powell plays Godfrey, a down and out forgotten man, who becomes the butler for a crazy wealthy family - The Bullocks. Irene Bullock, played by Carole Lombard, is the flighty daughter who falls in love with the mysterious new valet, Godfrey.

11. Scarlet Street

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - Fritz Lang's Scarlet Street starring Edward G. Robinson, Joan Bennett, and Dan Duryea. One of the best in the film noire genre - this is one of Fritz Lang's best works - right up there with Metropolis and M. Edward G. Robinson stars as Chris Cross, an aging cashier who is married to the ultimate nagging wife. As a hobby, he likes to paint and fancies himself to be an artist. One day - he saves a young damsel in distress named Kitty and tells her he is a great artist. One thing leads to another - she tries to shake the old man down with her creepy boyfriend Johnny and old Chris falls in love with the struggling young actress named Kitty. Eventually - it all blows up and somebody gets killed.

12. Snows of Kilimanjaro, The

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - The Snows of Kilimanjaro (1952) starring Gregory Peck, Susan Hayward, Leo G. Carroll and Ava Gardner in the film adaptation of the novel by Ernest Hemingway. Directed by Henry King, this movie tells the story of a famous Amercian writer Harry Street who is dying from a leg infection in Tanzania, near the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. He recalls the high and low points of his life, especially his former lover named Cynthia Green, played by Ava Gardner. This movie was nominated for 2 Oscars in 1953 - Best Art Direction-Set Direction, Color and Best Cinematography, Color.

13. Woody Allen Comedy Special

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - The Woody Allen Special from September 21, 1969 - which was part of TV series called The Kraft Music Hall. (the guest for this episode was the 5th Dimension, featuring the Laura Nyro song Wedding Bell Blues with Marilyn McCoo in top form and Working on a Groovy Thing - AWESOME. Wedding Bell Blues was released in October 1969 shortly after this special and stayed in the Top 40 for 14 weeks). Candace Bergen, best known for her role as Murphy Brown is Woody's special guest. And - oh my - what a treat - Reverend Billy Graham has a terrific interview with Woody Allen as they discuss God, sex and seeing each other's show. Billy says he'll go see Play it Again Sam if Woody goes to one of Billy Graham's revivals. It's an amazing bit of television history -and fascinatin given the events that followed the era of the sexual revoltion of the late 1960s.
