1. Africa Speaks

Description: The LikeTelevision™ Movie channel proudly presents Africa Speaks - a 1935 “talkie“ documentary about Africa, complete with great white hunters in their pith helmets. Sometimes they shoot cameras - other times they shoot guns. The film is remarkable in displaying the prejudice and political incorrectness of the period. The great white hunters find themselves superior in every way - yet 64 years later, they come off as the savage beasts.

2. Black Brigade, The

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - The Black Brigade starring Richard Pryor, Billy Dee Wiliams, Stephen Boyd, Robert Hooks, Moses Gunn, and Roosevelt Grier. A white southern Captain looking to get a promotion leads a group of black soldiers behind the German lines to try and save a bridge from getting blown up. Stephen Boyd, best known for his role as Messala in Ben-Hur (the bad guy who had the big spikes on his chariot) plays Captain Beau Carter. Comedian Richard Pryor plays a frightened soldier for most of the movie in an annoying red beret and former NFL football great Rosie Grier (L.A. Rams) plays the funny big cuddly GI. (Rosie trivia - he was very skilled at Macrame and helped catch Bobby Kennedy's assassin Sirhan Sirhan on June 6, 1968 along with Olympian Rafer Johnson). Billy Dee Williams is the street wise kid from Harlem and Moses Gunn plays the cool headed doctor.

3. Day of Wrath

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - Vredens Dag, or Day of Wrath (1943), Carl Theodor Dreyer's pychodrama about witches, priests and passion set in 1600s. Lisbeth Movin plays Anne - a young woman in her twenties who got married to the priest in the village, Reverend Absalom - who is about 55 or 60. An amazing film about witches, burning at the stake, forced confessions, wild passion, and bad decisions. The cinematography is pure genius. Danish language film with English subtitles. We liked this movie

4. Rashomon - Akira Kurosawa Classic

Description: LikeTelevision's movie channel is proud to present - Rashomon, a tale about a murder and rape - and a look at truth, justice and lies. We hear four separate accounts of the crime and each is quite different than the other versions. The film explores perception and reality. We learn about the TRUTH, a painful truth, that indeed we all tell lies, even to ourselves. If you have read any Existential works by Jean Paul Satre, Soren Kierkegaard, or Martin Heidegger - this film will really get you thinking about man's search for TRUTH.

5. Satanic Rites of Dracula, The

Description: The LikeTelevision™ movie channel presents a scary Halloween classic - The Satanic Rites of Dracula. An updated, more modern account of the Bram Stoker classic tale of Dracula, who played by the great Christopher Lee and his capable opponent, Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) who comes from a prominent family of vampire hunters. Lots of scary vampires, blood sucking creepies - who get smacked finally by Van Helsing and his comrades who use every - how to get a vampire trick in the book, including the thorns of a hawthorn tree, why - because a hawthorn tree was used to crown Jesus with thorns. Also harmful to vampires, water - which represents purity, a cross, light, and perhaps a few more. This film has lots of spooky action and adult situations, so please - adults only - not for kids.

6. Shameless Showcase - To Kill a Mockingbird

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - A preview for To Kill A Mockingbird starring Gregory Peck and Robert Duvall. The movie is an American classic - and this trailer was made a few days after Gregory Peck's death. If you want you can watch To Kill a Mockingbird or better still, subscribe and download the movie.

7. To Kill A Mockingbird

Description: To Kill A Mockingbird is a classic American film, based on Harper Lee's novel, Horton Foote's screenplay is amazing - and Gregory Peck's performance as Atticus Finch was nothing short of stunning. The story is told through the eyes of Jean Louise Finch, Scout to her friends, as she recalls this tumultuous period many years later. Mary Badham's performance as Scout is flawless. She was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role but lost to Patty Duke for her role as Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker. Had she won, she would have been the youngest person to win this award. 1962 was one of the best years in the history of film. I am convinced this film would have won best picture - but it happened to come out the same year as David Lean's masterpiece, Lawrence of Arabia, with Peter O'Toole. How good was 1962 you ask? On top of those two epic films - you had Mutiny on the Bounty. The Miracle Worker, Days of Wine and Roses, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane, Billy Budd, The Music Man, Birdman of Alcatraz. The Manchurian Candidate, and The Longest Day. Come on Hollywood... get to work and give us another 1962!
