1. Alfred Hitchcock Hour - Piece of the Action

Description: The Alfred Hitchcock Hour debuted in 1962 afterseven seasons of success with Alfred Hitchcock Presents, a half hour show that ran from 1955-1962. The first episode called a Piece of the Action starred Gig Young as a professional gambler named Duke Marsden. His brother, Chuck Marsden (played by Robert Redford, age 25) is supposed to be going to join a law firm in Boston, but Chuck thinks he should be a professional gambler instead and when he visits his brother, he comes looking for a high stakes poker game. This is a great episode, so I won't give you any spoilers. Okay, I can't resist. Raymond Bailey, best known as Mr. Drysdale of the Beverly Hillbillies gets whacked for cheating in the first 5 minutes. Just enjoy the show, and go wow after it is over.

3. Ballet Mecanique

Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents Fernand Leger's remarkable 1924 short film Ballet Mechanique. Fernand Leger was one of the greatest French Cubist painters (do a google image search of his name) and a contemporary of Pablo Picasso. In the early days of film as an artform, Leger created this masterpiece - which is landmark film in the development of montage, a cinematic tool that juxtiposes two or more images to infer related ideas or events. The best known example is Sergei Eisenstein's scene from Battleship Potemkin - the Odessa Steps segment with the baby carriage rolling down the steps and the mother's eyeglasses - made a year after this film.

5. Scarlet Pimpernel, The

Description: LikeTelevision™ presents - The Scarlet Pimpernel starring Leslie Howard as Sir Percy Blakeney, Merle Oberon as Lady Marguerite, Nigel Bruce as the Prince of Wales, and Raymond Massey as the evil Chauvelin. Based on the classic literary work by Baroness Orczy - the movie is delightful screen adaptation of the story of Sir Percy Blakeney, a foppish fool in the English aristocracy who is secretly a courageous hero that saves some French aristocrats from Reign of Terror. Using guile, wit and an endless array of cunning disguises - the Scarlet Pimpernel (Sir Percy) becomes an unlikely hero who is hunted by the dastardly Chauvelin (Raymond Massey), who wants to introduce the Pimpernel to the Guillotine.

6. Smiles of a Summer Night

Description: The LikeTelevision™ movie channel is proud to present smiles of a Summer Night, a tale of love, comedy, betrayal, religion, and carnal desires. Released in 1955 and directed by the Swedish master Ingmar Bergman, Sommarnattens leende is right up there in the list of top Bergman films. It reminded me very much of Jean Renoir's 1939 satiric look at love, Rules of the Game. My goodness, the folks back then sure did carry on. The scene at the end with seminarian son yearning for closure on his tortured love with his dad's wife - gets an answer from heaven. Well, not really - you will have to see it. A great movie - 10.

7. The Louvre Opens In Paris

Description: The LikeTelevision™ History channel proudly presents, This Day In History - November 8!

8. Third Man, The

Description: The Third Man is wonderful film about post war Europe and the corruption that flourished as crooks made fortunes in the Black Market. Pulp fiction writer Holly Martins is looking for his friend, Harry Lime in Vienna. But it seems Harry is dead. He meets up with his girlfriend, Anna Schmidt - and is disturbed that the stories of Harry's demise don't add up. So he goes to the law -and learns from Major Calloway that Harry was a crook and a creep, who sold watered down penicillan in the Black Market. The film features obvious tributes to the 1936 Fritz Lang classic - M, about a child murderer - including the balloon man, the remarkable cinematography (Robert Krasker won the Best Oscar for Cinematography in 1951 for The Third Man), and the chase scenes in the streets of Germany (Austria-Hungary). You will also love the great music - Theme from the 3rd man, which was played on a zither by Anton Karas. Make sure you check out the preview. We also recommend that you check out Chet Atkin's version of the theme, which is just as remarkable as the Karas' zither masterpiece.
