The evil Doctor Fu Manchu is planning to cause total global chaos by unleashing a strain of deadly plague germs on the unsuspecting major cities of the world. But how will he transport these germs through customs you ask? Why inside some innocent looking melons that are part of the cargo of a ship. The authorities suspect some dangerous cargo, but have great trouble finding the deadly freight since they are hidden in plain sight. Glen Gordon plays the diabolical Dr. Fu Manchu - a non Asian actor who does his level to be Chinese. He delivers his lines in classic fashion, carefully choosing his phrases with very slow delivery as if he were some ancient Chinese Kung Fu master. Do your best to keep from laughing out loud - but you will fail, because it really is just too funny.

Sobibor was a Jewish concentration camp in World War II that was created for the sole purpose of exterminating as many Jewish people as quickly as possible - part of Hitler's notorious final solution, which called for eliminating the Jewish people from Europe. Most estimates believe that 260,000 people were killed in the Nazi gas chambers at Sobibor - making it a small sized operation compared to Auschwitz or Dachau. What makes Sobibor so noteworthy - the escape on October 14, 1943 when over 300 of the 600 Jewish prisoners escaped into the Polish death camp and lived to tell their story. The film does a remarkable job of telling the story of these determined heros - and heroines who refused to give into despair, and hoped in spite of a hopeless situation. The film was nominated for 5 Emmy Awards, and Won the Golden Globeaward n 1988 for Best Motion Picture made for TV. Excellent.

19. Evel Knievel: Description: LikeTelevision™ proudly presents - Evel Knievel starring George Hamilton as Evel Knievel and Sue Lyon as Linda Knievel. The movie originally aired as a made for TV movie in 1971 at the height of Evel Knievel's fame. While George Hamilton is an unlikely actor to play Evel, he does a decent job. And Sue Lyon, best known for her role as Lolita, the 16 year old vamp in Stanley Kubrick's classic take on the Vladmir Nabikoff novel - does a great job as Linda Knievel, wife and soulmate of the daredevil motorcycle hero. Much of the movie is filmed in Butte, Montana where Evel Knievel was born. Best of all - the film features some terrific archive footage of Evel Knievel, even the famed jump at Caesar's Palace, December 31, 1967 - which is one of the most spectacular wipeouts in his illustrious career as a daredevil motorcycle showman.

Very weird and creepy, which is what you might expect to find in a movie with Andy Kaufman.

23. Grande Illusion, La: Description: Jean Renoir's La Grande Illusion, a.k.a. Grand Illusion is a wonderful film about 2 French Officers during WWI who are captured and sent to a prison camp. Erich von Stroheim, best known for his role as Max Von Meyerling in Billy Wilder's Sunset Blvd, stars as a German Ace Captain von Rauffenstein (who shot down the 2 Frenchmen) and then gets reassigned to become commandant (he's not like Werner Von Klemperer, a.k.a. Colonel Klink) of a prison camp after sustaining serious injury by getting shot down. There's additional tension and class conflict between the French Captain De Boeldieu (Pierre Fresnay), who is an aristocrat and Lieutenant Marechal (Jean Gabin) who is a mechanic. The film also portrays an underlying anti-semitism, with the character Lieutenant Rosenthal (Marcel Dalio), who is slowing down an escape attempt when he strains his ankle. This is a really great film, voted in the top 250 of all time at IMDB.com.

25. Indiscretion of an American Wife: Description: The LikeTelevision™ Movie channel proudly presents Indiscretion of an American Wife - a dark 1953 romantic drama about Mary Forbes (Jennifer Jones), an American wife and mother in Rome who had an affair with a handsome Italian-American named Giovanni Doria, played by Montgomery Clift. Now she is taking the train to Paris to rejoin her husband and daughter but Giovanni is trying to convince her to stay. The entire movie takes place at the train station.

A guy riding on a train (The Bombay Express) with his wife in India goes ballistic when confronted by a fellow named Kumar offering to sell him some trinkets and a rooster. Good samaritan... I think not. This guy totally flies off the deep. Then he goes into a fugue state and his wife can't find him, so she gets some help from a missionary after the constable gives her the brush. We learn the India policeman knows a little secret history about the rooster saleman, and somebody is going to get murdered, but you'll have to watch it to learn the details.
