Directed by - Sam Fuller(1969) - Color - 91 min The LikeTelevision movie channel presents Shark, also known as ManEater, Twist of the Knife, Caine, and originally - Arma de dos Filos (it originally released as a Mexican film). The film stars Burt Reynolds as Caine. The film was directed by the great Sam Fuller - who had some serious issues with the producer (Jose Luis Calderon) and left the production very upset. He even asked that his name be removed from the film - but the producers did not comply. Based on a novel by Victor Canning.

Part one Intro, Color, credits, etc. The film opens with a scene where a diver gets killed by a blood thirsty shark, which creates a job opening for a diver. (no listing on Monster however, but I digress). Meanwhile, Caine, played by Burt Reynolds is stopped by some local police officers somewhere in the middle of Sudan. He gets away just in time as the police find dynamite in his old truck. Like those Clint Eastwood movies, Burt lights a stick of dynamite with his cigar, and tosses it out of the truck window. Unfortunately, his brakes fail and he is forced to bail out. He eventually arrives at a quiet beach town in Sudan and needs to find a new line of work. He decides that he could work as a Scuba diver when Anna comes to his aid. Part two Things continue to get crazier - as Caine makes friends with a cute kid who is a thief and he listens to some stories from Doc, the drunk American who used to be an accomplished doctor back in the states.
Part three Caine begins to wonder what is so valuable under the sea that it is worth diving in heavily shark infested waters. He hears a few stories, all of them incorrect from the Doc. Meanwhile, the local policeman takes in interest in what Caine is doing and later on in the film we learn why he is so interested.

Part one Part two Part three Part four Part five

Part four Frustrated that he is getting no answers, Burt Reynolds, I mean Caine goes to see Mallore and Anna and ask them what's so important on the sunken ship named Victoria. They have a big fight in the hotel room and Burt gets the best of both of them. So Mallore hires some local thugs to beat him up, but Caine wins that battle too. But, in the melee, Runt (played by Carlos Barry) gets hurt and is need of a doctors attention. So, Caine gets Doc drunk as a skunk so he can operate on the kid. I kid you not... get the Doc drunk so he can perform the operation on the young boys head. Hmmmm.... only in Sudan.
Part five The conclusion of the film is terrific. A bunch of double-crossing and chicanery leads to a delightful ending. Well... except for the part where chum gets thrown into the water, which leads to a shark feeding frenzy and more and more trouble. I am not going to spoil the fun - check out the movie for yourself.
