Part one Suddenly is the name of the quiet little town - where the town's sheriff, Todd (Sterling Hayden) buys a gun for a young boy named Pidge.... and then pesters his mother, a grieving widow to go to church with him. Then, Suddenly is all a buzz - the President's train is coming through and he's going to make a pit stop. Meanwhile, some bad guys are out to kill them. Part two After posing as F.B.I. agents, the thugs take over the widow's house which has the primo vantage point on the train station (like Carlos on the grassy knoll ??? Though this film was made in 1954 - there are eerie coincidences with the JFK assassination in Dallas - the mob is paying $500,000 for the hit). Tension builds as Todd proves to be a thorny hostage.
Part three The TV repairman sporting a fashionable buzz cut comes by after receiving the call for help hours before (ahead of its time on this trend, huh?). He rigs the cheap folding table for a shocker of an ending. You just know Frank is going get killed in this one - but will it be Todd, throwing an ashtray, or Pidge, who got Gramp's gun from the top drawer? or someone else? Watch it and find out.
