A famous hunter (Bob Rainsford) gets ship- wrecked on a remote island and is treated as an honored guest by General Zaroff, who is a hunter as well. But the general likes to hunt humans - the most dangerous game.

Part one A passing ship is lured into the shoals (they moved the buoys) and breaks up on the reef. Everyone is either killed in the wreck or eaten by sharks except Rainsford (played by Joel McCrea) He arrives at Zaroff's castle and meets Eve, (played by Fay Wray) and Martin (Robert Armstrong), her brother who's a drunk. Part two Martin gets all excited as Zaroff is finally going to show him his special "game" room. Of course, Martin, two sheets to the wind, is easy prey for General Zaroff. Eve and Bob learn what happened and soon become the next game. The short story does a much better job of describing Bob's anxiety regarding "being a famous hunter" and how it feels to be the prey. So go read the story, written by Richard Connell.
