Harry and Marvin decide to blow off the usual Thursday poker game, and things get crazy when their wives find out. What have they been doing on Thursday night? hilarious comedy with some of the greatest actors of the glory days of television sitcoms.

Gene Wilder stars as Harry Evers

A classic buddy movie - with some really great scenes, especially Cloris Leachman freaking out in the restaurant, the poker game fiasco, Norman Fell firing Gene Wilder, and of course - Nancy Walker, best known as Madge the manicurist from Palmolive dish washing soap fame - dishwashing liquid? - you're soaking in it! The scene with Rob Reiner is also pretty funny, and Gene Wilder and Bob Newhart are always terrific.

Part one
Harry Evers (Gene Wilder) has a terrific scene in a taxi and at the unemployment office. He's worried his job is in jeopardy. We also meet Harry's poker buddy, Marvin Ellison (Bob Newhart). The poker group decides to raise the stakes - what was once a friendly game - gets a little tense as Harry and Marvin win thousands of dollars. Then Bob decides he's not going to pay. After a fight breaks out, it's clear -Thursday's Game is coming to an end. Harry and Marvin have their first night out.

Part two
Harry decides to visit a job placement office - even though he still has a job. Some hilarious scenes in the waiting room, plus we meet his job placement headhunter - the great Nancy Walker.

Part three
Harry is troubled as the ratings continue to slip for his show. He visits his son David at camp - a very weird "touchy-feelie" new age camp - where everyone gets in touch with their feelings. Meanwhile, Harry loses his job as the ratings fall further.
