Bogie plays Billy Dannreuther, an opportunist hoping to get rich in Africa. But the treasure in this movie isn't gold, it is land that is rich in uranium deposits. The movie is presented to you in glorious Black and White, and in our view far surpasses Ted Turner's colorized version. The screenplay was written by Truman Capote and John Huston. The movie also stars Gina Lollabrigida, Peter Lorre, Jennifer Jones, and Robert Morley.


Part one Three colonial officers have been murdered in one month... A group of associates are waiting to board a boat to Africa, when a ship's mate reports that the boat trip is delayed, because the boat captain is drunk! Bogey tells his associates that they are suspect of the murders, and they denounce the idea. Part two The ship is rescheduled to depart at Midnight. Once on board, the fun begins! A backstabbing partner reveals the associates plan to steal vast deposits of Uranium!
