Andre Segovia was widely hailed for raising the Spanish guitar from relative obscurity to classical status. Born in Spain's southern region of Andalusia, the home of the guitar, Segovia made his first public appearance at the age of 15. He continued to enchant the ears of the world until his final U.S. tour at the age of 94. “What age did you begin guitar? How old were you?“ Segovia answers - “Oh, I was six years old.“
