White Zombie was one of the first blockbuster horror films of its day. Released in 1932, and starring Bela Lugosi, who was a huge box office hit from 1931 with Dracula, Lugosi plays the evil Murder Legendre, who can control people with a little white powder, a hand clench, and a nasty glare. A young couple goes to get married at a rich friend's Haitian plantation , but the rich friend, named Beaumont wants Madeleine for himself, and teams up with Legendre to make Madeleine his Zombie slave. Whoa!

Part one
A young couple, Madeleine Short and Neil Parker are off to the West Indies to get married at Charles Beaumont's house. We learn about the Zombies, or living dead, who work at night in the sugar plantations of Haiti.

Part two
On their way to the house - they meet Murder Legendre (Bela Lugosi) and his nasty glare. Legendre manages to grab Madeleine's scarf - and their coachman gets the heck outta there when he sees some zombies!

Part three
Madeleine goes under that evil voodoo spell and becomes a zombie. Beaumont begins to learn that he shouldn't be messing with mother nature - and starts to regret ever having conspired with Murder Legendre to steal poor Madeleine's soul. Plus- bonus, we get introduced to a bunch of Zombie henchman that Legendre keeps around as his personal army. Madeleine is now dead and buried - or is she dead?

Part four
Neil talks with Dr. Bruner - who tells him about zombies - and that maybe Madeleine might not be dead. Madeleine might be with the natives, being used as a zombie. Oh no! wails Neil - not that! Beaumont asks Legendre to make her return to herself, but he'll have none of that. So he puts Beaumont under his voodoo hex.

Part five
Dr. Bruner and Neil decide to go in with and brake up the zombie slave ring with the help of an old witch doctor. Will they save Madeleine? Or will she forever remain in the evil clutches of Murder Legendre. And what happens to Beaumont? And when the guy throws a rock at the vulture - are any vultures hurt in the making of the film? Or was it a hollywood foam rock? Watch the conclusion and see how it ends!
