Bucket of Blood (1959) - B&W - 67 min

The LikeTelevision™ movie channel proudly presents -A Bucket of Blood! This film, a cult classic horror satire by the great Roger Corman, the king of the low budget genre, made this gem in 1959. The film precedes Little Shop of Horrors but is similar in many ways. The hero, or anti-hero is Walter Paisley, a waiter in a Beatnik coffee shop with live Poetry readings, who wants to be an ARTIST, but unfortunately, he has no talent. Great dialogue, very funny, and awesome music with Paul Horn on sax. Cool movie - check it out.

Bucket of Blood
Directed by - Roger Corman

(1959) - B&W - 67 min
Walter Paisley is just a waiter - but he wants to be a ARTIST - and when he kills a cat and covers it in clay, it appears he has found his muse (meows? - sorry, couldn't pass on the pun - please pronounce it like muse for full effect). Bert Convy also stars as an undercover narcotics officer - and Walter kills him too - with a frying pan, which brings to mind another great horror parody - Eating Raoul, with Paul Bartels, who actually starred in a re-make of this movie with Justine Bateman. WOW - small world, huh? This movie is a classic. You are just a nobody still you have experienced the ART, baby.

Part one
Intro - B&W - Title screens etc. Walter Paisley is a nobody, a common waiter in a Bohemian Cafe, with live poetry readings. But he dreams of being an artist - so he gets himself a wad of clay, and tries his best. Alas - no talent. Then, in a moment of frustration, he grabs a knife and tries to cut the drywall to release a cat that is stuck between the walls. Trouble is - he kills the cat by accident. Then he covers the cat with a thin layer of modeling clay - and Shezam! Walter is now an artist.

starring Dick Miller as Walter Paisley

with Barboura Morris as Carla

Part two
Walter brings his opus to the cafe and everyone just loves it. The patrons of the cafe now think he is virile - now that he is an artist. One of the girls gives Walter a vile of heroin before he goes home. This transfer is seen by Lou Raby, undercover cop - who follows Walter home. Later, Lou gets whacked with a frying pan and becomes Walter's first human work of art. He calls it - Murdered Man.

King Walter with his plunger - not to be confused with his Zen stick.

Part three
Well everyone is totally jazzed by Walter's new work of art. An art dealer wants the cat and anything else this Great Artiste can make. Money is no object! Walter's next subject is a figure model who loves to show it.... for $25 an hour.
