The LikeTelevision™ movie channel proudly presents - The Bigamist, starring Edmond O'Brien, with Joan Fontaine and Ida Lupino as his better halves, or would they be quarters. Also stars Edmund Gwenn, best known as Santa, Kris Kringle on Miracle on 42nd Street, as a pesky investigator for an adoption agency. A cool dark movie - with the screenplay by Collier Young, known for his great Sci-Fi series - One Step Beyond with John Newland. Collier Young is also the producer. Directed by Ida Lupino, who was married to Collier Young from 1948 - 1951. check it out!

San Francisco natives Harry and Eva Graham want to adopt a baby, but Mr. Jordan (Edmund Gwenn) with the agency smells a rat and does a little snooping around. He wonders why Harry has so much business in Los Angeles. He is shocked when he finds that Harry is married to another woman (Ida Lupino), and she is also the mother of his baby to boot.

Part one
Intro - B&W - Title screens etc. Harry and Eva Graham are at the adoption agency looking to add a little one to the family. But first - Mr. Jordan, played by Kris Kringle, a.k.a. Edmund Gwenn asks them to sign a consent form, allowing him to dig into every aspect of their lives. Harry hesitates and Mr. Jordan gets suspicious.


Part two
Tension builds as Harry gets more and more annoyed with Mr. Jordan and his snooping. Mr. J wants to learn more about Harry and why he does so much business in L.A. - hmmmm something's fishy here.


Part three
More background development about Harry and Eva grew apart and how Harrison went off to Mexico with Phyllis. Harry calls off the affair and returns to Eva, thinking it is all over. But it seems Phyllis has a little extra bundle from the party in Mexico, and it looks like Harry too.

Part four
Nice guy, Harrison Graham decides to make an honest woman out of Phyllis, who feels terrible because she doesn't want to trap the man. But Harry will have none of it, and marries her.


Part five
Tension continues to build as Harry's life gets more and more complicated. Somebody call the cops and end this movie. Check out the exciting conclusion.
